Only 5 or 6 of us with 1.3 Problems/Hard to believe

Post by Lou »

I know there is/was a poll going on about this.
I sure do wish more people would come forward if they have any issues.

I guess Dan and the gang are probably working on something, (While scratching their heads ) but not to much seems clear.
So how do you fix something that doesn't appear to be broken by so many? Especially if the guys who do the fixen
aren't experiencing any problems. Seems a little strange? Kind of an Oasys Milenium.

Hi Lou,
It's a mystery, isn't it, why only a few of us are having problems. But, I think we are narrowing it down. As I said, installing new identical ram seems to have stablized my OASYS, although I still have the "Bounce all tracks to wav" issue. Did you read my workaround for this last problem by going directly to Sampling REC + Start/Stop followed by hitting the Sequencer Start/Stop button?

Cheers,
Eric

Eric, thank you. Yes I just tried this and it also fixed all of my sequencer problems. At first I thought I had to reload the PCGs, then I found that just switching to Disk mode also worked. Now, As you mentioned, Just switching to Sampling/Start/Stop also is fixing the Sequencer issues. Very puzzling. I hope the R&D people can somehow connect to this is some way....

Lou,

As you said in another post though, maybe other Oasys users do not go deep with sequencer use. I for one am one of those users. I use my Oasys primarily for the powerful multi-synthesis it offers. I did read of sequencer problems and delved in for bugs and got my first freeze ever, so I believe you and other users who visit this area of the synth often are just the ones experiencing it. I did email what I could remember my steps before the freeze to Dan. There may be a time when I want to use this feature more on the synth, so I too would like any bugs squashed. It seems as if the crew at R&D is on it though, so I think you will be happy soon. Unfortunately, in things like this, when you squash one bug another often appears. Lets hope this is not the case. Here is hoping that Korg has a fix soon for all of the power sequencer users out there like you and E2!

Hi Mark,

Yes, R&D is on it and I have every bit of faith in them. Their tops!
I myself use the sequencer at times for quick sketches. Very handy. Most of my recording are in software.
Let's face it, you invested in a top quality machine and would like to know that all of it's features are working and ready for use when you need them.

Hi Lou,
Sorry if my suggestion to just touch the Disk mode button then back to combi mode before loading the sequencer confused you. You shouldn't need to reload the PCG.

Anyway the other temporary work around for recording a sequence to wav directly from REC + Stop/Start in Sampling mode continues to function well enough here for my needs (wav to demo mp3s for my combis).

Korg's R&D guys, Brandon and Dan, sure do put in a lot of hours. These blokes are super.

Cheers,
Eric
