How to automate the FX's on the EMX???

Post by Freixo »

I've been trying to work around this issue for a few weeks, but i can't get the FX's read automations. The FX EDIT 1 and the FX EDIT 2 seem to send control changes, so it would be logic that they can read them too, but i can't get them to do it. In other words i'm able to write those two knob movements in a software sequencer, but i can't make them play back those same movements when i play the songfrom the softwre sequencer. It's weird because all the other knobs react normally and these two don't. I really need some help on this issue. Please??

I just checked in live6 and it records the changes and plays them back. What are you using for midi?I use a remote zero and if the ports aren't set correctly i can't record the cc changes :)

Have you checked ll your filter settings and you cc assignements on the emx?It does seem odd that you can automate everything else but those two and i can understand your frustration.Could it be a fault with the mx?

If yor host is receiving midi from the emx and you can automate everything else sound like something's wrong at the tribes end but i don't know logic so i could be wrong :|

But if you've checked all you settings and everythings communicating sounds like there's a fault somewhere, see if you can narrow it down by process of elimination..

Yes i've checked the cc assign, and disabled all the MIDI filters and the problem remains, and i don't know any other configuration on the EMX that may be causing this.

I've also checked with another EMX conected to Cubase sx and i've found the same problem in that setup (so probably it's not a fault from these two electribes) . I really can't understand what's the problem.

But anyway it's good to know that the EMX is able to recognize automation messages for those 2 knobs, even if i'm still not able to do it.

Thanx anyway, musikmachine.

No problem i hope you can get it sorted :?

Can you draw automation envelopes in your host that change the fx parameters? Is the envelope being triggered on playback?Maybe someone on the logic forums can help you with your project file if you send it to them..
