KP3 and MIDI clock driving other gear

I've searched the forums but have not been able to find anyone mention this particular problem: I have KP3 driving a Korg MicroX, which is set to EXT tempo. As I change tempo on KP3 my MicroX keeps synced up. Except that the timing is *slightly* off: if I run KP3 Drum1 program and press Hold, then ...

KP3 and Micro-X

I was wondering if any of you have found creative ways to use KP3 with other synths, in my case I have Korg Micro-X. One thing I would love to be able to do is to program drum patterns on Micro-X and trigger them via KP3 in the same way DRM1 is controlled on the KP3 - sweeping the finger on the pad ...

I ended up buying the Micro-X, the price was really good - one thing I really like about it is the USB control over every single parameter in real time from the computer, it opens up a whole new way of programming sounds and it's a lot quicker.

Re: KP3 screen resolution

Is it possible to adjust the screen resolution so that each square represents 1 or 2 changes instead of 4 or 5? This would improve control immensely, and make the synths and vocoder effects more useful. I think this depends on the selected program, the digitizer obviously has a higher physical ...

I like this little feature. For me it seems to actually move it right or left...Adding or deducting silent space hmmmm :-k .....it changes the start point in either case, at least in my experience. Well, if it only moved the start point and not padded the sample with silent space (or as I thought ...

Thanks, that would make sense (although to my ears the drift seems to be too slow to be affected by that), I'll play with it some more and see if it happens without sample shifts.

Sync drift in KP3 OS 2.0

I may be wrong, but I thought that the sync drift issues were completely fixed in OS 2.0 so this may be caused by something I'm doing: I have two samples assigned, one sampled from the outside and the other resampled from the internal drum loop. I had to offset the drum loop by +6 to get it in sync ...

It does, but some mixers like my Behringer UB1832 only have mono FX SENDs, which is very annoying. But I think giving up the stereo imaging in the input is too high a price to pay!

Ah, thanks - that's what I thought but to my (rather untrained) ears microX sounds quite a bit better. This is, of course, without taking Karma's crazy arpeggiator into account. :)

microX vs Karma

I have been looking at microX for a few weeks now and it sounds very impressive! I am confused though at how the sound engine compares with Karma's sound engine (which I own). As far as I understand, they both inherit from Triton - can someone explain what the difference really is? To my ear they ...
