Oh, the incompetence... Instead of hosting the files themselves, they're probably hiring someone to f*ck it up in their stead... The download link on the Korg website goes to gearzonemusic.com. When you visit the site, it shows a default page of Microsoft Windows Server. Renting a Windows Server and ...

I couldn't say the Virus sounds better (well, maybe a little) but it's so much easier to operate - this was the key info I wanted to share in this post. Kronos doesn't stop at doing analog synthesis, it gives a broader range of sound capabilities. The Virus - while still having a very feature-rich ...

There are already "basic" patterns available, it's just that KARMA itself works differently than you would expect a "normal" arpeggiator to behave. Yes, but even finding them in a list of a thousand patterns is stupid. It took me hours to get a 1/16 repeating bassline. It took me 2 minutes in the ...

Re: Kronos vs Access Virus
Really? #-o Do you have the KARMA Kronos Software program? No, and you've just proven my point. I rather not spend money on third-party software to allow me to use the arpeggiator of my synth. In my honest oppinion, I think Karma is by far the worst choice Kord has made in building the synth. It's ...

Kronos vs Access Virus
Hi, I've been looking for a second board to back up my Kronos. A friend recommended an Access Virus so I went to the store to give it a try. Comparing the sound of both synths would be pointless. Both have features the other one doesn't have. Both sound great, just different. One thing is sure, they ...

Finally found a program that detects key mappings based on filenames:
http://www.maz-sound.com/
This got me pretty far. Some of the banks use descending numeric filenames. I'll have to do those manually, but most of them have been converted to SF2. Will import them in my Kronos soon!

Fastest way to create a multisample
Hi all, I found this website where you can buy all kinds of "retro" organ sounds (Vox, Gibson, Farfisa, ...) for only 56$: http://www.vintagekeyboardsounds.com/ They simply send you a bunch of ZIP files over yousendit.com which contain .wav samples for several nice instruments. I already figured out ...

Re: My Kronos' own little secret partition
Sounds like your drive had a small FAT32 partition. I don't know why this didn't show up on your PC - look to Windows for the answer! That's the weird part, it doesn't have one. When I go to the disk management utility from Windows, it clearly shows the drive with just one NTFS partition. This is ...

My Kronos' own little secret partition
Last night, the weirdest thing happened. I did some sampling work on my Kronos, and I wanted to transfer those samples to my PC. I connected my portable HDD to Kronos, it's a Lacie Rikiki (http://www.lacie.com/be/products/product.htm?id=10517). I went to disk mode, selected the proper drive and ...
