Renaming is causing the KRONOS to re-evaluate the file system, and in doing so it detects the new User Sample Bank. This should happen whenever any disk activity occurs, including over FTP. So, the renaming itself is a red herring. (As a side point, the name doesn't matter! You can change the name ...

Ok after much testing. I've deteremined that all that is required is to rename the .KSC the _UserBank.KSC file points to. For instance: Mark V ver 1.KSC Mark V ver 1_UserBank.KSC On the kronos rename Mark V ver 1.KSC to Mark V ver 1a.KSC and then back to Mark V ver 1.KSC the when I try to load Mark ...

I'm using Linux and a ftp client lftp. It seems to be only with the *_UserBank.KSC files. When I try to load the *_UserBank.KSC file I get a message KSC is incomplete due to uninstalled EXs:Mark V ver 1 After I copied the .PCG, .KSC, _UserBank.KSC files to a new directory, it could see it. Perhaps ...

Re: More Sysex Documentation Errors
The sysex doc for wave sequences proudly proclaims that each sequence occupies 1192 bytes. However, looking at a wave sequence sysex dump, each sequence takes 1374 bytes. So the documentation is useless. This is not the first error I've found in sysex (though the last one is an error in the Kronos ...

Small MIDI Sysex Bug
When sending a mode request and in (when in Set List Mode): F0 42 30 68 12 F7 It responds: F0 42 30 68 42 06 00 00 00 00 F7 The 06 should be 09 as per the KRONOS_MIDI_SysEx.txt document from the included DVD. 06 is defined as SAMPLING and 09 is defainted as SET LIST. It probably should be fixed for ...

Sometimes I have a feeling that Korg engineers stuck somewhere in 60's and don't realize that design of user experience has moved forward a lot since then. I can't believe they (and, to be fair, other keyboard companies too) still use this bank system in 2011. There is no sense to limit amount of ...

The OASYS display is 640 x 480 pixels. The Kronos display, although physically smaller, is 800 x 600 pixels. The fonts are exactly the same size on the OASYS and Kronos. Hence, the end result is that the fonts appear quite a bit smaller on the Kronos, with more white space around them, even though ...
