So far the best option in M3 is to use sequencer mode and program RPPR to trigger sysex and change programs. This is so easy to do and work like a charm.

Another alternative is to use SEQ mode and use control data via sysex. This does not involve Karma and much easier to setup.

I had the same error when I bought the M3. Only way is to get a replacement. I contacted Korg US and they suggested to get replacement if possible from the store and since it was brand new, i got a replacement from the store. No details about the error is available.

M3 Patterns

Yes, you can create multiple patterns (limited to one MIDI channel per pattern) and assign to different keys and have them play once / loop / or while a key is pressed down. You can also have it start at different intervals to sync with the beats

I have M-Audio BX5a. I also agree with the previous poster. After connecting the monitors with XLR cables made a huge difference. I was using some cheap cables first.

There are some other ways but it is a good starting point to restore the factory combis and programs.

No one mentioned the look. M3 looks so handsome and powerful while the M50 looks like a cheapo plastic toy

One way to do is to create RPPR in sequence mode and assign it to what ever key you want. I don't know any straight forward way to do in in combi mode.
