Ha. I'm bad at math. I was thinking it was 4 years. I pre-ordered mine 5 years from a week from now. Got it on 9/1/11 It's been absolutely awesome and rock solid.... until last night. It was all set up to go at the gig and literally 2 minutes before we started the first set, I went to hit a key and ...

How long does it take the M3 to load samples at startup?

Hi guys! I'm thinking about buying a used M3 for gigging purposes.
What I'm mostly interested is the sample loading time at startup. How long does it usually take for you?
Thanks!

Off topic, love your music. What do you use for drums and where do you get the rhodes from? I'm really curious. Thanks for the compliment! I'm using Addictive drums (most of the songs use kit pieces from the funk expansion pack), and the rhodes sound is from a free VST plugin, Goldentine : http ...

First of all, the R3 and the X50 have the same keys (I know because I own both). Now...R3 was the first synthesizer I bought, having previously owned some arranger/workstation keyboards such as Korg T3 and 01/W. I got it in 2008 and I still love it. I am (among other things) involved in some ambient ...

The R3 is a clear winner. Better effects, deeper engine, plus if you want more knobs, you can use something like a Behringer BCR2000 since every parameter can be assigned a MIDI CC number. You are my hero. I had serious thoughts about selling my R3 and buying the Radias rack just because I wanted ...

I think that this is done by using alternative tuning scales for different layers of the same sound (an option the R3 doesn't have). It's a trick popular with folks who play arranger keyboards - they often use it to 'auto harmonize' lead sounds. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMeCO-hW7mY ...

Kaossilator pro or Kaoss pad 3 can do stuff like that. I run my R3 through the KP3 on gigs and I often sample one-shots of chords (or even single notes) from the R3 and then use the pads to play them back.

My R3 hasn't been with me for the last few days, but I'm getting it back tonight so I'll check out your sounds as soon as I can ;)

MMT synthesis is cool, but has its weaknesses. Your enthusiasm is a nice thing, but you can't really claim that the R3 has no limitations. It is not as good for plucked sounds as some more quality VSTs/Synths such as the Nord Lead, for example. Its envelopes are not fast enough and you cant achieve ...

Good point. Synth sounds on romplers are never as good as on synthesizers though. Saw wave samples on my X50 are pathetic compared to the R3.

Yeah, but today you can. Look, there are people who enjoy creating patches. I am one of them. But there are also those who just like playing an instrument that sounds good, without learning much about synthesis. Maybe you'll argue that those people are not creative or whatnot, but it's just a way of ...

The R3 has a custom of having that kind of knob problems. I had them myself, the value on the pot#2 wouldn't go down to zero. Eventually, the problem disappeared by itself. Then, a couple of months it came back, so I asked for advice on this forum and some people told me that it is condensation of ...
