Chord sampling technique?

Post by Morshu »

I was looking at one of Korgs R3 videos and i noticed the guy play a chord and then somehow assign that chord to one note in unison. How again do you do that? I couldn't find it in the manual but then again I'm probably not using proper terms for this.

AFAIK it's not possible.
Older synths called it 'Chord Memory'.

Can you point us to the video?

I think korg deleted the video, I've been looking for it for a while- Maybe korg was going to add that feature but didnt. either that or it was just showing the unison mode and the guy made a mistake in explaining it- either that or it was the DWGS fifths.

oh wait he had some sort of pad thing connected to it... I've heard of people using pads to control their synths in interesting ways, do you think a kaossilator would work for that?

Kaossilator pro or Kaoss pad 3 can do stuff like that. I run my R3 through the KP3 on gigs and I often sample one-shots of chords (or even single notes) from the R3 and then use the pads to play them back.
