If they are put into the SongBook can the midi GM instruments be changed to Korg Sounds like in the Seq mode? |

Hi,
if you load the song into sequencer, you can just pick up the new sound and resave it.
It doesn't always work,as some midi files use different sounds on same tracks,so maybe at another bar, maybe the program sound will change again,or if there are more than one program change controller/MSB/LSB etc.
Maybe is best to listen to the whole song, making sure the sound won't change,or edit it and change any program change controller to the one you want.
As considering guitar sounds, changing just from GM sound to Korg is only the half work to be done.
You also have to put the guitar strums and noises,if you know how to do it.
You can also use insert fx on 4 tracks ,if for example you use some kind of electric guitars or you want to add an amp or chorus stuff on acoustic guitars

I am saving all of the fixed midi tracks to a USB drive and playing from that. So far playing in the SEQ mode has been working. It lets me play what every instrument, EP, Organ on Track 1. I just have to raise the volume up to 127 and go into the EQ settings to get a bit of a boost. |

It's fine to fix parameters of MIDI tracks with the built-in-sequencer of an arranger, but it makes no sense to play a pre-processed SMF through the sequencer instead of through the arranger's players.
The onboard players have a variety of functions for creative use of playbacks that the sequencer is not suitable for.
In addition to using Lyrics, chords, markers Lyrics, chords, markers and score It is possible to use a functions that mutes a song melodys track defined as the melody track (via switch or footswitch).
You also can choose/define Drum & Bass tracks, that you can assign to a switch or footswitch or to use FastPlay, letting a MIDI Song start immediately.
To save changes to a MIDI Song, load and edit it in Sequencer mode but you can do on-the-fly edits to the MIDI Song Sounds exactly as you would with the Keyboard Sounds.
As you can do with the Keyboard Sounds, you can adjust the volume of the individual MIDI Song Sounds. You can solo - or mute - the individual MIDI Song Sounds exactly as you would do with a Keyboard Sound etc. _________________ kind regards

When I load the song into the SEQ, change the GM sounds to Korg sounds and then save it to a USB drive all is well. When I load that saved midi song from the USB drive and play it in the Song Mode it goes back to the GM sounds. |

it's because there are more than one program change and other controlles.
You have to edit it and either delete the controllers or edit them.
Just changing the sound ,it does nothing more than adding one more program change controller, but you don't know if it is before or after the last one in the midi file.
It's just what i described before.... _________________
