While I am still waiting for the heavily overdue fix of the tuning issue, my Prologue 16 went into Modwheel delirium next.
- 1. After turning up the modwheel to 100% it is no longer possible to turn it down to zero again. Instead the values return to any accidential value between 3% and 12%, with a nasty well audible mod effect on that patch from then on, which will not disappear until switching patches and returning.
- 2. In between, the display (set to display all parameters), will go wild and randomly show up with changing mod wheel values, just by itself, without me even touching the modwheel.
I tried setting back to factory values, and completely reinstalled the latest OS: both without success. The problem persists and is obviously another hardware failure. And meawhile, I really ask myself, if the Prologues mainboards have been bulit with ultra-cheap low quality components, being anything but reliable.
This is my third Prologue buy, and after having had to return two former units, due to heavy degrees of the well known tuning issue, and keeping the present one with slightly less, but still bad enough tuning jumps, hoping for the announced software fix by the end of 2018, I now have to return this third Prologue as well, this time as guarantee service to cure one more technical issue popping up before even reaching two months of use!
This will be the first of two efforts, which Korg legally has in my country to fix the device. If they don't get it done two times, the case will turn into another full refund the third time. And I doubt I would choose to buy a fourth Prologue, after returning the third one, or buy any other Korg gear anytime soon, if I don't get a working solution for ALL these ultra crappy Prologue issues very fast.
My trust in Korg, building quality gear like my Kronos, my SDD 3000 delay, my Microkorg XL+ and other Korg gear from former times, is rapidly vanishing towards around zero. _________________ Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5 |

I've been noticing occasional modwheel jumps on my Prologue 8.
Sadly the place where I bought it has just gone into administration.
I've got two other problems: the EFF# issue and an issue where one voice out of 8 will randomly go wildly out of tune (fixed usually by tuning).
It's not great, is it? |
