don't go tell everyone, but programming this track was literally done in about 20 minutes - all I did was program one single 4x 16 steps loop (on the computer, not the internal sequencers on the volvas/es-1!!) for each instrument, and everything else is just minimal variations of that... deleted or shifted some notes, etc.
oh and by the way, since you use that as well: most of the risers/sweep noises in my track were done with the Kory DS-10 "game" for the Nintendo DS ^^ |

well it certainly sounds a lot more in depth than what you have described, and well done on using the Nintendo, its a great little synth program _________________ Korg gear past and present:- DW6000, DW8000, MicroKorg, MicroKontrol, R3, Nintendo Korg DS10, VolcaKeys.

well, I guess muting the volca beats or the sampled drums coming from the electribe here and there did contribute to that, had to carefully tune them to match each other so it doesn´t sound like s**t when they both played together (in the "drop" sections).
also, of course the Beats has that funky "Stutter" function (which I absolutely LOVE when it is tempo-synced -hold FUNC key while turning the rate knob!- to 3/1 setting! ), and the ES-1 has that global delay button which sounds similar and is also tempo-syncable.
great little performance tools, too - I just set both unit´s range to the setting I like (which whould be triplets, basically), then never touch the rate knob again and just crank up the "depth" (or "stutter" on the Beats) knob for instant drum-fills! |
