Alchemy, best VST ever?
I'm in the midst of the free trial for Alchemy by Camel Audio and I have to say it is the most flexible, feature rich, easy-to-use synth I have ever interacted with. Its a sampler and is real flexible with its granular synthesis in the oscillator section. it also does additive synthesis. The unison mode can stack 600 oscillators that can all be detuned and spread in real time. AND its easy on the cpu.
It doesn't do FM or Ring modulation as far as I can tell, but I just started to scratch the surface. The LFO's do go up to 220Hz however. Here's a link to the tutorial vids by one of my favorite sound designers. Just poke around the site to download the 'player' which you use to enable the [four week non-contiguous] trial of the full version.

I picked up the alchemy player to try but the latency is just awful and I can not seem to tweak it so that it is at all usable.. Too bad, I really thought I was on to something here.
I might try it with another vst host other than reaper just to see if I can get it to work, Can anyone suggest a good free low latency host to try this with???

I did the Player and the demo and was completely sold by it. Bought Alchemy complete with the Camel FX and absolutely love it. Compliments my Korgs & V-SynthGT perfectly and goes beyond other softsynths in range and simplicity. Adding CS Sample Tools for better editing/translating into. Been thinking about adding Galbanum wavetables to it and patchpool.de has a really good set along with others like Yuroun. It's really deep, flexible, simple to program and adds that extra layer to the other nine engines of Kronos.
Just the Korgs; Kronos X88; M3exp w/EXBRadias; Radias rack; KLC; N5.
I would suggest you start a thread on the topic you are looking into ...you should have much better luck in a thread that is on topic.
This thread is about alchemy those who use it may very well not ever heard of komplete or atbleast used it. Another thread dedicated to your inquiry will be a better idea.
