@ Rob,
First, wow, I hope that's right.
Got source for price? Retailer? Delivery date?

Yeah, just as Ajbbklyn posted those prices were from Sweetwater with availability in October. _________________ Yamaha S80, Kronos 61. |

Wow, that is a lot lower than I thought. Maybe it'll be able to compete with the MOX where the M50 couldn't. |

LOL, the M50 was never intended to compete with MOx as it came out much earlier than the MOx . I have tried both and much prefered the M50 anyway. The krome does indeed seem to blow the MOx completely away as well. I am still holding out for a Kronos however to replace the killer M50 when the money becomes available. |

Well yeah, that's why the M50 couldn't compete with the MOX
I think the Krome stands a good chance due solely to the better piano engine and EPs. I just hope they haven't compromised the 88-key hammer action too much to make it as light as the MOX8. Myself I prefer the MOX because I need its sequencer, but for gigging (e)piano players, the Krome is a no-brainer. |

Yamaha needs to move into the 21st century before it competes . The missing touch screen is notable and just one of the reasons I chose the M50 over the MOx even though both were available at the time of my purchase. I agree that the advanced touch screen of the krome will make it even more so desiarable than a MOx. |

Does it have a capacitive touchscreen as on modern smartphones, or is it still resistive (read: stubborn)? _________________ Musical stuff: Korg M50 61, Behringer MS40, Abiro MIDI Controller, Abiro MIDI Echo, Abiro MIDI Remote |

I would think it is better than the M50's which is already very smooth to operate. I can not imagine they would make it of less quality. |

Given that we found out that it does indeed have sampling capabilities, this board is one excellent bargain indeed. I wonder if Mr.Kay will be offering Karma for this board as well? I will have to inquire over at Karma Labs. |
