ive not got my ms here to try this. but i just thought about a progression from the auto-next pattern recording thing people were talking about...
doing basically the same thing could you not set up a long pattern, say 40 bars or something.
then sequence it so in the pattern sample/loop 1 triggers on bar 1, then sample/loop1 + sample/loop 2 on bar 2, and so on? adding a layer each time? so then when you go to record your 'loop' you auto next all the way up the keyboard eventually?. this way whatever you record would then loop the next time round and the autonext would go to the next key/layer which you could improv or whatever and it would overdub it over the previous thing you did. then the next key, then the next etc?
still not ideal, but it might work? if it did work it might be worth having a bank set up/stored especially for it? then export the results out to other banks/songs etc?
if anyone has machine near them i'd be interested to hear if it works? if not i'll try over weekend.... |
