Hey! I just got an AX-1 and I need some wireless MIDI for it. Anyone have any experience? I am looking at the following candidates:
- Kenton Wireless MIDI
- CME WIDI-X8
- M-AUDIO MIDAIR
- The MidiJet Pro Wireless
The Kenton would be preferred I guess, but that is also the most expensive. It operates arond 800MHz I belive, whereas the cheaper sollutions like the M-Audio is 2.4GHz based (and packet based I guess - since it has to co-exist with Wi-Fi and Zig-bee etc.). But if the cheaper is just as good as the Kenton I'd rather save the differnce
I'm also considering putting something 2.4G based together, but there are a few problems doing this yourselv - like packet handeling, delays and dropped/lost packages.
Any ideas would be appreciated! _________________ Kurzweil PC1SE

Another timely thread. I too am looking at wireless midi but my cheesy red toy isn't worth ANY substantial investment. All the devices mentioned will probably work fine but I'm exploring cheaper alternatives in the 5.8G region. I'll watch here and if I come up with a solution I'll post.
Good luck to us both! |

Choose generic keyboard from the controller surfaces in Reason. Make sure you have MIDI out on your keyboard to a MIDI in on your computer interface. Also make sure that your MIDI interface is recognized by Windows AND by Reason. When you choose generic keyboard it will ask for the MIDI port. You just choose the interface you are using and it works.
I use the M-Audio 24/96 with a variety of boards and it works fine.

Don't know if it can be of any help, but a friend of mine uses the MidiAir from M-Audio and he likes it a lot! _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic
