There you go people, a new MacBook. Just had it in my hands it's under 1" thin, everything cool.. But hmm. Is this what people have been hoping for? I mean, I see no way to change the battery on this device, only one USB port, 13.3"? I hoped for a 12" or something like that It looks awesome, I gotta admit that, you can actually put it in an envelope and send it, it's that thin... _________________ Check out http://it-review.net. I think a lot on this new Air... and I think that is gonna be a good laptop for presentations and people that needs only portability and office work. Don't think it will fit game, audio, video, or photo market. _________________ http://www.synthaddicted.com |

There are no Benefits that I can see except for the light weight.
No dvd, You have to connect with another computer to use there cd roam to install software and a very small hard drive. |

I can't wait to get myself one but I don't think I'd give up my Black Macbook either.
The Air would be a great portable computer but I still feel it needs some work and a few more USB ports.
I think I'll wait for their second round... _________________ Carol

Actually, I know this is late, but I should make a correction here.
By now you guys have heard of the Remote Disc (I think that's the name) function. The computer can network to another computer (windows OR mac) and use that computer's DVD/CD drive. You can even perform installations this way. It's done via WI-FI. _________________ -jojo

One has to understand that majority of the people aren't computer savvy to understand computer networks. The reason why Ipod etc are selling well & making Apple a ton of money is that they are user friendly.
I think the Air is great for sales/business/off site staff/people who travel cause they have everything installed and most of time don't have the permission to install any apps with the permission of their admin person. They mostly remote into their company networks and their laptops become dummy terminal. Its great cause its super light.
Great idea though!

Just got my own Air a few days ago and loving it!
I still use my iMac monster with all the juice for the heavy work. But the mobility of the Air is just too good to resist, especially that I don't need everything on a laptop. I just need it to be light and reliable.
Really amazing! _________________ Carol

Hi Charol!
Happy to see you like the Air!
To be honest it doesn't look the best solution for me, i.e., beacuse it's lacking usb ports, optical drive, and cost a lot here...
For the same money I would buy a MacBookPro for sure, but if you need light weight, portability and reliability, that's the way to go _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic

Yeah I agree with you Diego.
So far so good. The weight is just too tempting!
And so far, the speed is not so bad... still, the MacBook I had was also a great great Laptop.. just too heavy for a 13" _________________ Carol
