Em-1 & Volca

Post by ammanuel »

Hello,
A novice problem:)

I'm using the Tribe, or hoping to use, as master clock to the Volcas :midi out > midi in ( Volca Keys > sync out to volca bass and synch in to volca beats.

Problem. When I push play from the Tribthe volcas do not respond. Have to be individually started.

Volcas are set to Auto Clock ( step 6) and and the tribe is set to Internal Clock.

Any help of suggestion or lead to tutorial is appreciated.

Thank you

MIDI is for start/stop and clock. Sync is only a 5v pulse that keeps gear in time with each other, not to start/stop.

I think you need to hit play on the bass and beats first, then start your Tribe.
Hope this works.

Yep, that'll work. If you push play on the volcas, and you've got the sync in port plugged in but no signal, they'll wait on the sync signal to play (trying to stay in sync with something that isn't happening).
