radias short circuited, plz help

ok , so today i drove 3,5 hours to buy this radias, i tested it briefly before purchase, worked perfectly.
drove home, 3,5 hours with the radias in a flightcase in the back of a van. (yes it was cold back there)
came home, very excited rigged it up, push power on,it lights up for half a second then goes blank, my god.
obvs it must be from the temperature fluctuations. i feel like an idiot for not thinking about this.
but anyway, pls tell me i can go to a local tech guy and have him resurrect it for me, or did i just waste nearly a thousand dollars on some high tech room decoration?
