Its less then a month away, and there are definately a lot of expectations...

Will Korg show us a Pa4x, or will we have to wayt till Musikmesse
Will Yamaha finally throw in their Motif workstation replacement
Will Roland release a V-synth or Fantom replacement
Will Nord finally show us their studio key with full daw integration
Will wersi sonic get some attention, a home organ thats more advanced then any synth workstation
Will kawaii show their VPC master controller...
Will spectrasonic show us their next new synth...
Will there be newcommers with great products...
And anything else i forgot?

There is so much to be looking forward too, after being dissapointed for years, what will we see now we have left much of the financial crisis beyound us..

Would be nice to see a Pa4X, but beyond that I wouldn't be expecting to see anything interesting from Yamaha or Roland.

If I were allowed to dream for a moment, an upgrade kit for the Integra7 would be nice. Something that allowed you to load all it's expansions at the same time, plus a little something new.

I'd also like to see WERSI catch a break. A new Workstation that didn't look like a Cheesy Organ, plus one with a price tag based on reality would be nice. I find their sounds more realistic that most keyboards on the market, but their price tag and designs are bloody awful.

I just read the announcement that GSi officially announced the new dual manual MIDI controller, the DMC-122, which features an expansion slot for additional cards.

I'm curious what Roland will come up with, and as far as Yamaha is concerned I think it's best to remain sceptical...
There is one thing I hope the manufacturers will take to heart: if you want to economize and create distinctions between different classes of keyboards/synths, do NOT economize on the feel of a keybed, because that is an essential element in the process of making music.
Without a proper keybed you might as well opt for a module.

Personally I'm expecting a Motif replacement or (hopefully) something entirely new that brings back elements of the EX5. The current motif is a REALLY old keyboard now with a flash memory option. I'm really looking for a replacement to my XS7. If NAMM doesn't bring anything interesting that a solid step forward hardware wise, I'm going to start really exploring the iPad route.


I also wish Roalnd would just release a full feature all available all the time Integra workstation/Performance synth and get it over with! I'd buy that too.

Version 2 software for the Sledge. Announced in April, promised for September, still not here!

+1. The FA06/08s sound great, but the 06 keybed is horrendous to play. Once again, almost, but not quite there.

Maybe an FA Pro is on the cards - hopefully without silver text on a highly glossy surface that scratches when you look at it?

Alright, it actually has Pitch and Mod wheels so it's not USELESS as a controller! You listening Hammond? I would be strongly considering an SK1 otherwise.

And if you want to go the full midi controller option, this one is a great sollution..


In the end being a former organ player, i think having two manuals/keybeds close to eachother adds a lot of potential for live playing..

You know what I like about winter NAMM?....The unknown.....It reminds me of when I was a kid wondering what was inside that box all wrapped up with my name on it....All sorts of ideas of what COULD be in there....I think NAMM is the closest thing to that feeling I have now and based on all the posts that start flying around leading up to it, I think others feel that way too....Excitement is definitely in the air and we are all listening for hints and rumors about our favorite companies.....And then there's always the unknown company that catches you off guard and comes up with something you didn't even know you needed until you see the demo but it is definitely something you just got to have....So finally when NAMM weekend gets here and I finally get to open that package on Christmas morning just to find out it was....gloves? Where's the new workstations!...That's all the same old stuff I saw last year!...yep.....That's what I like about NAMM ....moon

There is a nice Video of the Organ, which in my opinion is also the most advanced arranger and most advanced keyboard workstation available with unlimmited VST integration at its core

Just hoping that one day they might release a peddalfree acceptably priced unit...

I'm really, really hoping for a new version of the monotribe.
Updated sequencer, tweakable drums, 2 osc, ADSR, same crazy soul.
That would be awesome. The volcas are cool in their own right, but the monotribe (I own two of them) is more to my liking.

Winter NAMM has definitely ceased to be as important as it once was. It's no longer a bag full of surprise highlights for the whole year, like in former years.

Durning the last years major new releases have appeared all year long. In internet times NAMM has become quite obolete as the one big music news trade show. It's just a big music business meeting now, with some casual new things and not much more.

Just to remind some: last year's Namm was a complete lamer show for keyboards. I expect some nice news, and nothing overwhelming at all from this and from future NAMMs.

Hmm, I will guess, Snow! at least where I am. I would love to see some new and incredible Nord that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! And maybe a polyphonic Sub37!
