I downloaded the new os for my Kronos. Very nice. my question is I also downloaded the free Bolder sounds collection and a demo of the Kapro ESX 19. It looks like the Kapro at least defaults to user G which has a bank of Korg CX3 programs. How do I either move those organs to a different bank or load the EXS files into a different location. Can I move a user bank of sounds as a whole - like a copy and paste - or do I need to save them in a new location individually? Thanks

You should download PCGTools and work with taht for any rearranging of sounds and banks.

Generally, Program banks are loaded into U-G bank, but you can load into another from the DISK MODE.
I don't have the Kronos in front of me, but you have to open the EXs.PCG file, then select the Program item, (Maybe open again then select the U-G bank item) then "Load", and a popup window give you a choice for the loading location.

FYI, you can open until it show Programs, that you can load individually.

Thanks for mentioning Jim... however, wait a few days because the current PCG Tools version cannot handle OS3 files yet ... I hope it will change in a few days (meaning: my development version already is adapted, need to fix some small things to release it); after that a new version in some weeks to month will address some specific problems with the new program structure (see for a discussion: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... &start=705

You're welcome. I don't think it would be nice to others that I have at home a working version for OS3 and not share it with anybody else until I finish all things completely (which can take some time more).

Should I wait then before downloading PCGtools? It sounds like it would be a huge benefit to have.

You can already download it, but it is not yet able to read OS3 files. I hope to release a version this weekend that is compatible with OS3.

This will work:

1. Save a PCG with just the bank that you want to relocate.
2. Load that bank from PCG into the desired location.

Should take about 1 minute.

Thanks Dan. I'm afraid though I don't get what you mean since this is the first time Im trying to either load an EXS or move a bank of sounds. A step by step would help. Thanks.
One other question: I edited one of the vintige bank clavinets and saved it. It sits alone in UserEE (if I remember I think it defaulted there). When I wanted to relocate it using the save function into UserAA where I have other edited programs that wasn't an option. Only banks User EE, FF, and GG were available. Why is that?

I also would like to mention the new cut/copy/paste options that might be helpful when cut/copy/paste programs, combis and set lists to and from the new factory default file provided by Korg.

Kid Nepro. I followed your instructions but nothing shows up in the new bank. Not sure why. These are HD1 sounds and the bank type is set correctly.

I know it sounds easy to experienced Kronos owners who already understand the file system, and probably somewhat frustrating to you when things are explained in plain words and people are still a bit unclear.

I personally am starting to get a bit more of a grasp (PCG = Program Combi Global), but still am not quite there. You see, if you miss out on some fundamental point (how to save "only" one bank as a PCG, or why loading the Austrian piano bumps the Kronos German and Japanese KSCs), then the whole can remain confusing to the uninitiated.

Most things are easier to show than to explain...

Surely a veteran has already made a step-by-step video? Qui, Michel, KidNepro, Dan, Sharp, Sander, anyone?
