First original song written with my band (with the Kronos)

Hey guys,

A while ago, I published a video of my band playing a cover, but now we've just completed the recording of a few original songs.

I never really learned to play piano so I hope the beginning doesn't sound too "stiff" or unnatural. I've also used a few slightly modified community patches in the song, as well as commercial sounds from the community merchants (i.e. sounds of planet's protein1 = DAL lead, detonator sw1). In this particular song, I had a lot of difficulties to find out what I could play or what patches I should have selected. Even though it is finished, I am still unsure if I should have chose "that" patch over "that one".

Well, nevertheless, I hope you'll enjoy it! We have 4 more songs coming up soon!

So here's the song/video :

I liked your piano playing :verycool:

Isn't that a Heil PR 40 mic your singer is using though? It's not a side address mic, you're supposed to sing into the end. I guess he was just doing that for looks 8)

Yeah, it's pretty unlikely most people would notice. That's a really nice mic. I'm trying to decide between that one and the Sennheiser 421 II, so I happened to notice it. I like your music, and I'm looking forward to the next songs. Fwiw, The Shure 55SH has an upgrade kit that I think uses the cartridge from an SM 58 if he wants that look on stage: http://shure.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... di1rN20%3D

That's good to know. I won't be able to help you decide, I did not do the recording (the drummer did) and my knowledge on mic is not that advanced :P

Thanks! It's mostly 7/8 with an occasional 3/4. It was very hard to make it sound "soft" and not rushed, because the tempo is very fast (I wanted to lower it at first). The kronos keybed made it very hard to play it smoothly and tp not "over-accentuate" the first beat of each measure (I did not want to accentuate the beats so much, so I had to set up a velocity bias in the sgx-1 engine).

Again, I guess a real pianist would see no challenge in that :P
