I have the oldest version at 1.04 & began the upgrade to 1.5. It has been frozen for 45 minutes & the red status bar has not moved. Any suggestions?

First of all, you can always install the latest OS, regardless of the current version installed, so you should install 2.1.1 over your 1.0.4. Furthermore, it's only from version 2 that streaming of user samples is possible, so why stay with 1.5? Not to mention the many bug fixes released since then.
If the process is indeed frozen, then you cannot do anything but restart. Two solutions.
1- The restart occurs fine and the machine boots properly. Once the boot has finished, update the OS with 2.1.1.
2- The restart doesn't work properly because a- the machine has a problem (badly seated RAM, bad sector of SSD, failing motherboard...), in that case, you're stuffed and need to contact after-sales service or b- the update has screwed the system, in which case you need to reinstall OS1 from the DVD (you need a USB DVD reader or reader/writer), and update to 2.1.1 once the reinstallation has finished.

Thanks, I did indeed did a restart & it when back to the original 1.04. I then tried to install the 1.5 & it went successfully. I then went to 2.06 & no problem there. Now I need to fix an unseated ram stick.......

Great News!! I've booted up! I now have 'essentially' a Kronos X!! It has 2- 2 gig sticks of Corsair XMS Ram, & a Samsung 840 Pro 256 gig SSD! Now I can finalize the software & firmware updates & should be rocking! Thanks for your help!
