I have some sets I downloaded, what is the best way to creat a best set out of them all, do you load each set to the PA3 listen to all styles and sounds them load the next set do the same etc and finally decide on favourite styles and set, this could take ages to do or is there a simple way
Please help

Remember that a STS is part of the style setup, so if you want to change a factory style, first press Media > tab Preferences > unlock Factory Style. (This is not necessary if you want to change a User style).
Then change the sounds upper 1/2/3 to your liking and press the pull-down menu in the upper-right corner of the display, press Write Single Touch Setting, choose the STS 1-4 in which you want to save, rename it if you like by pressing T, press OK.
Your STS is now saved, but only temporarily. To keep it stored this way, you have to save it with the style setup, so press the pull-down menu again and press Write Current Style Setting, press OK and now the STS are saved and will be available the next time you choose this style.

Well Bakhat, you describe exactly how I work to organise my style banks.Bakhat wrote:I have some sets I downloaded, what is the best way to creat a best set out of them all, do you load each set to the PA3 listen to all styles and sounds them load the next set do the same etc and finally decide on favourite styles and set, this could take ages to do or is there a simple way.
This issue is discussed often in this forum (do a search query) and is nominated by many users as a desired upgrade for a more user friendly way to pre-audition styles.
I have my Favorite banks named after style groups and load new styles into User bank 1/2/3 and copy the ones I like into the right Favorite bank.
You can copy the style into the respective factory banks also, but with a future OS update you'll have to copy them again and if some styles are added by the update, you'll have to keep track which ones are used in your Songbook as the location might have to be replaced.

Re: STS saving
I strongly advice you to use the Songbook for this.Bakhat wrote:Dear,

You can use any style over and over again in the Songbook with different settings (incl. different STS's, tempo, effects etcetera).
Your Songbook is the place to be to manage your gig(s)!

Admars way is OK if you want to edit the STS's of the factory style(s) permanently.Bakhat wrote:Thank you both, I tried Admars way and it so easy and sample to change STS and save it for good, not sure what you mean by use songbook
Many thanks
Which of course CAN be a good thing to do, if you're not satisfied with the factory STS's.
What I tried to explain is, that with the SongBook you can do exactly the same thing, but you will keep your factory styles in tact as they are.
And you can use any (factory) style over and over again with lots of different settings, including STS's.
For instance:
In your SongBook you can create different versions (as many as you like) of the same factory Rock Ballad style: different tempo, other drumkit, other track-instruments, other volume settings, other STS's etcetera) for different songs.
It's a different approach, but I think the SongBook approach is much more flexible in the long run.
With the SongBook you can also create your own custom gig-lists.
It's really worth the effort to get familiair with the Songbook-options.
It's much more powerful than some people think!

STS's & Pads & Songbook
Hi guys, i am using the SB exactly the way you suggest. But I still can't get the STS's to change (even when I remove the lock in media preferences.)
For some reason the option is there to change STS but it doesn't overwrite the existing STS???
Also, I would like to change Pads (Seq) for different SB entries but again they revert to their original settings most of the time. I am doing a "Write Current Style Setting" after each change, but no luck. This is getting frustrating especially during gigs, plus my singer is getting impatient while waiting for me to do these changes on the fly. Thanks and cheers!

You don't have to remove the lock. Do this:leesjoy wrote:Hi guys, i am using the SB exactly the way you suggest. But I still can't get the STS's to change (even when I remove the lock in media preferences.)

Make sure your Style change LED is OFF (this is IMPORTANT).
Now: select your Songbook entry.
Then you can select a performance and edit it to your liking.
Now use Shift-STS1 (or 2 or 3 or 4, whatever you like, and: done!
Your STS is saved in your Songbook with the active Songbook entry.
It really is that simple!
You have to save this with "Write current resources" in your Songbook.leesjoy wrote:Also, I would like to change Pads (Seq) for different SB entries but again they revert to their original settings most of the time. This is Korgian for write Style performance in the songbook.
Again, simple once you know how it's done.
It took me a while to figure it out but it really works like a breeze!
Cheerz! (And proud to be Dutch after yesterday's football match. We squeezed the oranges to the last drop! )

Changing&Saving STS / PADs
It worked perfectly. Many thanks Frans!!!
I don't why this process isn't clearly documented in the manual???
But I am extremely grateful for your support. I love this machine. I hope I live long enough to get more out of it. There's so much to learn and so little time.......
Best regards from Canada. Good luck in the WC. Wish we were there too.

Glad I could help you.
The manual isn't bad IMO, in fact it's quite complete, but some procedures could have been explained in a bit more simple manner.
Songbook operation is one of them. It's awesome once you know how it works.
About WC: we squeezed the oranges, why not the same routine with the kiwis?
