Would you sell your kronos for an analog synth?

Do you think an analog synth like the prophet 08 is superior than the kronos? Sound wise? Would you sell your kronos for one?

No

I don't think I would, for the mere reason that I like to spend more time making music than tweaking sounds... Sure it might sound a little fatter and warmer, but I like going through presets and finding a sound that inspires me, If it doesn't I move on to the next one, what happens when I exhaust all my presets on my analog synth? Spend some time creating one when I could be composing? I don't want to spend a lot a time changing parameters to achieve the spacey reverb bell I want.. I'll like to stock my kronos up with a lot combis, and programs and let my creativity take flight.. Sure I might get a little analog in the future... but.. then again..

Definitely not. Maybe I'll buy an analog synth someday, but it would be more for fun than for neeeding.
I can do everything I want with the K, and I would not with an analog synth. Why should I trade?

Definitely not. I have a couple of analogs that I wouldn't sell to get a Kronos either though.

Never
If I wanted an analogue synth I would get one - of cause I have

some - but never trade Kronos against. It's two worlds of sound and it depends on the music what you need or demand. I need both

Nope, Kronos is far too versatile and powerful. I wouldn't even trade it if someone offered a straight up trade for an Oberheim Matrix 12 which has been a dream synth for a long time

I totally agree with you Corgy, why get rid of 1 for the other? 2 is better than 1 especially when 1 is a Kronos.

The Kronos and Prophet 08 are two completely different instruments and there is no comparison. It would be more realistic to compare the P08 to ONE of the Kronos engines.
I would not want one or the other. I would want both but if there had to be a choice of just one it would have to be Kronos simply because of the power and flexibility.
That being said, if you are looking for analog purity and don't care about any other workstation features and engines then the P08 would win.

To be honest I thought the P08 was pretty uninteresting sounding when I tried it. But to each his own, I guess.

Not a chance.the K rules. Besides, the K has a great analogue synth built in it. Yeah, I know it's not really analogue but it still sounds amazing. It just needs knobs!
As for something else, I've always be fascinated by the Polyevlover but I'd never trade for one.

No, but I did it the other way round.
I sold my A6 Andromeda to fund my Kronos X 88.

I can understand you money wise but I worked with an A6 for a while and thought it was absolutely killer!

Yes - it was a great keyboard, but I felt I didn't have the programming chops to get the best out of it.
I had to replace the main board on it a few years ago and I was a bit worried that I might have further problems down the road when parts would not be so readily available.
Apart from the occasional twinge I don't have any real regrets. The Kronos suits my needs better.
