CX3 2.1

So I've updated the Kronos to 2.1 and I've had a little time tonight to work with the new CX3 patches. The tube sound is indeed a lot smoother and I like the idea of using the Joystick X to change speeds as on a halfmoon controller. Unfortunately none of the new patches are using the new Joystick function, so I'm going to have to do a bit of reprogramming for each patch I plan on keeping. Thanks to Korg for all their work!
btw, PCG Tools does work with this new update.

I can't find the newly announced amp in the CX-3. At least not within the engine itself. Or is it about the nr 36 and 37 Tube Amp modelling in the FX section? Can't remember if they were there in OS 2.06. Never tried them anyway

It's not part of the FX section.
EXi 1: Basic. You have a choice of Classic CX-3 or Custom. Choose Custom and you'll have the new Leslie model. See page 229 of the Parameter Guitde for more information.
EXi 1: Amp/VC/Rotary Speaker: Rotary Speaker. At the right bottom of this page you'll see a check box for Speaker Simulator which gives you a few different options. See page 243 of the Parameter Guide.

I spent yesterday afternoon tweaking a bunch of organ sounds for a gig last night and was pleasantly rewarded with the sounds projecting from my speakers. Goodbye Morphius (Leslie simulator), I hardly got the chance to know thee.

Indeed, some of the newly programmed CX3 patches (e.g for Child in Time, Whiter Shade of Pale) outperform my previous ones using the Ventilator.
So with the upgraded CX-3, I might indeed use the Ventilator leslie less, and use more of the new CX-3 leslie..

It's a great update, no question!

But I still need to use me Vent, as Kronos' tube simulation sounds quite digital. As the Ventilator also doesn't have a tube, it sounds much warmer and authentic when it comes to heavy overdrive.
Would be great, if Korg would also upgrade the effect section - especially the overdrive effects

Same here. The updated CX3 does not yet come up to the level of the Vent. I hoped it would as it would simplify my setup. Just not there yet for me...

Thanks for that. So if I understand correctly, the no so called "tube model" is integrated in the custom's amp. There is no additional setting I need to select?

but with ALL the options that we have in our effects section... can you not get the warmth, etc... that you need to accomplish your goals?
