Ok, so I tried this song on just about every piano patch on the Kronos and the Nord Stage 2. It was really close... but the stock "German Grand" seemed to fit this song the best for piano!

Excellent job. The German grand was a good fit and your playing by ear is pretty close to me.

this is one of my favourites by "the Great Pretender"

I like your version and it is great to see your fingers on the keys and your foot on the pedal.

funny,

the queen upright which you can download at nord is the piano used for Bohemian Rhapsody... (maybe a bit chorus as effect). I think that on suits better..

OMG - you're probably right! Never thought to try any of the uprights, just the Grands!

"By Ear"... easy (for me)... its something I've been able to do since age 6. I know every note (and chord) I hear, and know exactly where those keys are on the piano. So if I've "heard" the song, I pretty much can play it (some require a bit of practice, others don't). So many people ask me this question... I'm just as puzzled asking them "how can you hear a note and NOT know what it is"? Think of it as knowing every color you see as an analogy... you don't know how you do that either, you just do it!

Hate to say this... But if you know every chord you hear, why are there so many wrong ones?

Don't get me wrong, I've listened to a lot of your stuff and it's fun. But this one, I couldn't help but reply.

Yes, that can/does happen! Its rare but it happens. Similar to color blindness! Sometimes some notes sounding together throws something off... this happens with me mostly with orchestral stuff.
But "so many wrong ones"? I don't think so... Which ones? What do you think they should be instead?
