Hey guys!

I got an electribe ESX recently and I'm really loving it! I'm beginning to figure out tricks of it and the basic workings and I'm loving the arpeggiator! However, I've run into a bit of a problem...

I'm trying to play 2 of the same note in an arpeggiated line...
Example, C F G A F B or something, the two Fs are supposed to be the same octave... My question is, I can't seem to do this. I have to make the other F another octave for the sequence to work... Anyways around this?

There are 31 different arpeggiator scales including one for 'octave' - have you tried these yet?

Hey! I think you're misunderstanding what I mean...

I'm talking about the sequencing arpegiator like when you hold down the keys you want to arpegiate, so if you hold C-E-G it'll play those three notes...

I'm looking to play for example C-E-G-E (E same octave)

First of all, make sure you go into Global and change the Arp to "Reverse", then save this setting so the strip = note, slider = gate.

It sounds like you're trying to do the trick where you hold down the keys in the order you want the arp to play back. Well, I don't think you can hold down the note twice, otherwise you'd have lifted it and the mini-sequence would be lost. You'll have to be strong, grasshopper, because the only way to do what you're describing in a live performance environment is either to sequence it, or lift your finger and put it back in the upper position where F is on the ribbon, then right back down to C in the middle of the ribbon...that's some ninja s*** and could be nigh impossible to pull off. if you're trying to play a specific arp sequence live with the arp ribbon and have more than one of the same note in the sequence.. cant be done.

If you're recording the pattern then the best option would be to substitute that second hit of the note with another (close by) then step edit those notes to the note you want them to be after recording the arp into the pattern.

Yeah! This is what I ended up just doing... I just figured out the step editor so that's helped me a ton!

I think you can octave shift and hit the same note again as long as it lands in 13-16.
I've also had the arp remember key presses when I didn't think it would. Experiment with holding down just one of the notes while you press the others in order and see what that gets you.
I don't have the box in front of me or I'd test.

I just set the note I needed a halfstep or so away and then used the step editor to get the right note. Not really too practical live, but works fine when recording stuff!
