The Yamaha MoX is worth a look

Very similar to the M50 but with better DAW integration.............especially if you use Cubase.

You can probably get a used M3-61 for about that price and there might even be some new ones left for a bit more. If you want new and you have to stick with that price range then Krome.

But I don't see the Krome as being a major leap forward over the M50. It has the Kronos pianos and a better screen but not much else really stands out to me. If you're not happy with the M50 I don't think there is much in the Krome that will get you overly excited.

Of course you could keep saving up for a Kronos :D

Grand piano from kronos, better EP and better jazz drum set than m50
Besides this, krome is an m50 into a new chassis

The Krome also sports an improved color touch screen and a piano roll editor. Those are just two things off the top of my head and I'm only going from the promos that I've viewed.

Krome has the M3 Xpanded's sequencer which, in addition to piano roll MIDI editing, has per track velocity metering.

However, in terms of navigation, sounds, etc. it's pretty similar to the M50 as per the previous posts on the thread.

Edit: 120 voice polyphony

i think ill buy the krome then.
In the m50 the thing i didnt like is patch switching there was a little gap (around 1 sec) to go to the nxt patxh. is the krome faster in these things?
thank u all

Virtually all modern synths still have this issue, though the gap can be quite small. I don't know the specific numbers with the M50 and the Krome, sorry. I can also imagine it depending a little bit on the complexity of the patch (program vs combi) or the number of FX used.

I think the only workstation that has true smooth transition between sounds is the Kronos. If you can stretch your budget a little more you may get lucky on a Kronos 61, or a second hand one.

If not, you can always try to program "around" it, for instance usually in a combi mode you can solo timbres. If you can "fit" your needed sounds within the same combi (mostly an FX management job), this will be workable solution because the sound won't cut off if you switch parts within a combi. It's not excellent, but it could help.

yea i know that. i dnt use it that often. thx nways. it would be cool if i could by a 2nd hand kronos. but i live in lebanon. small country and few keyboardists. and it would cost a lot to ship one..

What would be the reason?

I've had (check my sig) Ensoniqs 20 years ago and you could sustain the chord (manually or via pedal) while choosing the "next" sound without any cuts...

The main reason is the fx switching.

i m really satisfied with the m50.
the only thing that disappointed me is the freeze. i cant go live anymore. I tried to repair it. no one where the problem originated.
So if ill buy smthng new it ll be the Krome.
