Congratulations on the purchases and best of luck with them after you make the repairs - that Oasys sounds like a real bargain !! - I am still very pleased with mine after 7 years.
Regards

Interesting that the store had no stomach or expertise in attempting the repairs themselves. The power supply for the M50 seems particuliarly strange. Maybe there is something more goin on at that store than one sees at first glance?
Good luck with your purchases.

Just to let you guys know that I narrowed down the problems it has.
1. Local control was off
2. The 48 pin ribbon VGA cable is all mangled so no signal other then blank white screen that then shuts off due to no signal
3. The touch panel ribbon cable is also mangled but still works fully so I a have touch and a vga cable going to my $5.00 thrift store find Acer 16" widescreen.
So I just need to replace those two ribbon cables and get the upper lcd piece. Parts is parts may be able to get them and I am suppose to call back tomorrow to see if they got prices of whats still available from Korg Japan.
I turn my $535 gamble paid off!
Another thought I was thinking is what if I got a Kronos lcd and touch panel with bezel hmmm?

I would like to keep it all original but we'll see....

Well for 800 bucks I would sure as hell hope so. Should get it verified before putting out that kind of money.

dejabass wrote:Figured I'd let you guys know I picked up Oasys 76 for $535 out the door as-is. Supposedly not working well after driving two hours back home. I can say I proved them wrong just need to order a couple parts from Korg Japan and awaiting my ownership transfer from Korg Inc. They originally had $2249 on it then the store manager told me it needed $1200 worth of repair. I get there and the one sales managers tells me I am taking a huge risk and I'm like what $500 for a fully intact Oasys 76. So only things I need is the lcd frame d top piece, the vga ribbon which can be salvage out of almost any older laptop. One knob cover for the Tempo pot and possibly the ADC Genesis display board due to someone with no knowledge and patience to repair it themselves. I've drooled over the Oasys and Kronos for so long and But could never justify paying full price etc. I say I hit the "lottery" on this one!!!

Also picking up a Korg M50 that wasn't diagnosed properly for $200 that only needed a new power supply is priceless as well.

Consider yourself as a very lucky person as I paid nearly £4000

No update here since February. Whatever happened dejabass?
Did the lottery pay off, or are they disputing your claim?
We sincerely hope it's the former, but know that these things can sometimes be hit or miss. Still...$535 for an OASYS is quite the tempting deal!
