Roland RD64 - an SV1 replacement???
Seen this yet? http://www.rolandconnect.com/product.php?p=rd-64
Lightweight, good sounds (I think), simple to use. $1000. The only reason I don't like 61 keys is I miss the low Bb, but this has that.
Don't really like the looks but... I may have to get one.

I can imagine that to some gigging artists, the RD-64 is more suitable than the SV-1; its basic design, the 64 keys, just a couple of core sounds... I can see how this could work out perfectly.
But I personally prefer the way the SV-1 allows you to sculpt and mold your sounds through the effects. And there's a lot of sounds to choose from. But indeed, if you don't need those sounds, then the RD-64 is more useful to you than the SV-1.

Wow, even the new Casio excites me. Have to hear it in person but so far I like what I see.

To be honest, I'm kinda surprised by the low prices overall. The MS-20 mini will "only" cost 600 USD, the Moog Sub Phatty can already be bought here for 990 euros, KingKorg 1299... I would've expected prices more like the DSI Tempest (1800 euros still, even though it's from 2011), not to mention the DSI Prophet 12 (roughly 3000 USD). When I bought my SV-1, it was a tad expensive, and I would've expected all of the above instruments to at least come near that price a bit closer.watching to see if minitaur prices drop if everyone buys sub phatty
Not that I'm complaining about it though

Ive had a lot of Korg gear (and still own the Volca series, along with a hybrid MKXL & MS-1 combo I hacked together). Was really hoping the SV1 would be the end-all for my vintage sound needs.. Its just too heavy and the acoustic piano sounds really fail in my opinion.
Sold my SV1 for a $400 loss and bought the RD-64 as a replacement.
Was looking for more of a solid MIDI controller and surprised it has onboard sounds that seem to be just what Im looking for....
Ill leave a response after Ive played with it for a couple days
