Radial Pro D2 with Kronos

I've tried this di box at two different gigs, with two different bands, and each time, the signal is so weak that I wind up using one of their boxes. I've read good reviews about the Pro d2. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I've
hooked it up correctly. Any thoughts?

There is a pad button. Make sure it is not pushed in.

There are two pad buttons and neither of them is pushed in.

Hmmm. I've had no complaints with any of our Radial DI's.
Is it gain to FOH XLR that is low or gain on the thru out?

It's the FOH XLR that is low. By the way, I'm using a splitter to combine l and r xlr's to run into one input at FOH, but that be a problem, I don't think.

Well, I just hooked up my keyboard to my little Alesis mixer and it seems to boost the signal to normal levels. I wasn't using the mixer because it was one less thing to set up and because it really didn't fit on top of my Kronos 61, but it does give me more control over my sound. I'm probably moving up to a 88 anyway, so I guess problem solved. It's still kind of a mystery though.

If you try to use the DI as a quasi mixer, it wasn't designed for that.
The Y connector to combine the two XLR outs to one is not the correct
way to use it.
The mixer your now using out to the DI in dual mono would be correct.
Or use the mixer to get a stereo signal to mono and use one side of that DI.
You may have phase issues with that though.
The normal way is a DI channel per mono out instrument or pre mix your multi keyboard rig to mono with a mixer using the mono outs of the keys.
Then use a mono DI
If you want stereo, you can with the mixer and the 2 channel DI with panning left and right.
But it is a personal choice and a can of worms depending on the who cares about it. And if the house can do it.

Low level out is normal for passive di boxes. I have a Radial JDI Dual and with about 0 dbv going into it from Kronos, output is about -30 dbv. About same as a very loud mic. They use transformers with input impedance about 100k ohm and output about 600 ohm. So there's your voltage drop. So yes , low level output, but no problem or fault. If you want to keep input level 1:1, then you go active DI.
