It sounds really good. I thought the panning of the piano was a little weird but again it sounded good. I don't know why , but I just loved this movie...

Beautiful Sharp!

A lovely piece from one of the saddest films ever. I watched it again with my wife and kids recently and was crying like a baby at the end... If you have kids it will get you!

Do you have a score for this piece. I would love to learn it!

All the best
Steve

Would you have gone for less, or something difference altogether ?
The left hand is panned slightly left, and the right panned a little stronger to the right.

Something more in the middle maybe ?

Cheers
Sharp.

ok, clearly this was an orchestral type of arrangement. The piano didn't have a place in the mix. It was everywhere. It almost sounded like you had two pianos on the stage, one playing the accompaniment, and one playing the melody. That was very distracting for me. I would've definitely put it more towards the middle.

I hear you man. The last scene sucked big time. I don't even have kids and yet it got me.

Don't get upset, I can't play for toffee, but my honest opinion is that the strings don't sound natural. Maybe increase the verb and the release a little for these parts.

The piano sounds just perfec.

My kind of music. :D

lol... I balled my eyes too watching this. It's a very sad movie.

Not really, it's a mixture of the “For Always” theme and “The Reunion” theme. The start is also not the same as either.

Sharp.

Got ya... you are right there are two pianos.
I'll have another look at the pan on those.

Thanks

Very nice. I do love that string sound.

Personally, listening through my headphones, the pianos paning sounds fine to me but we all have different tastes.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I've replaced the file above with a new one that has some changes.

The piano is no longer panned. It's just sitting in it's natural stereo field.
Fixed a few timing issues on the left hand parts of the piano.
Sequenced some new notes to replaced something small that was annoying me.
Added a few more bits of CC#07 to some tracks to tweak on the emotion of the tune.

Thanks a million everyone.

Simply beautiful piece. I especially liked the space you created for the instruments to share. Tastefully done.

Much better. Too bad you deleted the first version though!
I think it's a good idea to mix orchestral music according to the natural position of instruments on the stage. In the previous version, piano was getting too much attention and also the right hand was totally disconnected from the left hand. Now, It sounds like one instrument with its own space. Naturally, there's more room for other instruments to shine.

Sharp,

I really like the mix/Volume/EQ of instruments in your song. It sounds just right. Great work.
