Mini Kaoss Pad 2 MP3 Player question
I just got the Mini KP2 and I can't figure out how to play songs continuously. For example, put on an album and have it play all the way through. It just plays one track and I have to manually select each and every track to play them. Please tell me I'm missing something because if this is the way it operates it's going back to the store.

Originally I was looking at the minikp2 precisely because it could also function as an mp3 player - an added value. But after reading the manual and seeing how this didn't seem to have transport controls, I flaked out.
I already own the kaossilator 1, the ikaossilator, the minikp, and the KP3...I'd say I'm kaoss'd out.

I hope you don't mind me asking a question in your thread, but it is related to the MP3 playback.
I watched the demos on youtube and the guy had a Kaossilator running to a MiniMP3 and was doing effects - sounded good. But when he bought in the MP3s he shut off the KO2.
Can the MiniKP2 play MP3s and have an input from the KO2 running at the same time and cross fade between the two? Like mixing?
If so,, suprised why he was shutting the KO2 off at that point in the demo I saw.

Yes, you can do that. It will work as a simple mixer. That's one of the reasons I've decided to keep it. I can mix between mp3 tracks on the Kaoss pad and input sources like synthesizer apps on my ipod touch. If the mp3 player had normal full mp3 functionality this thing would be perfect. As it is it's still a pretty cool device. Just can't believe Korg skimped on the mp3 aspects.
agree... i like it, is more complete than the previous onesupermel74 wrote:Yes, you can do that. It will work as a simple mixer. That's one of the reasons I've decided to keep it. let's hope in an update, it would really easy for them to add a couple of mp3 functions
Thanks for that answer supermel74.
That is good news (I have oredred one now anyway!
) as they seem well priced and it looks cool.
Just to follow up on that though......was thinking about it and if you have an MP3 playing on the KP2 and you have a phrase loop on the Kaossilator ready to mix in....there is no other output for headphones is there???, so you can't cue them up, get in time and beat mix? Or am I missing something obvious. (I still only have one of the boxes at the mo).

yes is a fake the cue
only way is to cut exactly from computer editor then pass to mini kp
also if u want to beat match it has a slighty delay, only chance is to press play, and keep pressing and let the button when u want to sync (for example with external beat)
of course is also better if u take the exact bpm before cause yes u can pitch but not really in a dj pro way, forget that

Korg does this on purpose so they can add it to the next release. Not one of those Korg rep douchebags that demonstrated the mp3 functionality at the NAMM shows mentioned the obvious shortcomings. Intentionally withholding critical information is just as bad as lying and when you lie to sell a product you're nothing but a scamming crook.

Crossing Fingers for Software Update
Hi,
Well I think this feature is missing because the Mini Kaoss Pad 2 is mainly an effects processor, with the mp3 playing functionality added as a secondary bonus.
Still, I am going to be watching closely for a software update!
Korg has the ability to patch this device to bridge the gap between mp3 players and professional effects! I would never want to buy an mp3 player WITHOUT a Kaoss pad if they can add this small improvement.
Korg, PLEASE add an option for "Continuous play" that loads up the next track after one ends. Seamlessly, if possible. The ability to use the scroll pad for "Next Track" "Previous Track" would be nice too.
There's really no need for advanced playlists or sorting options. Just have the Mini KP2 go to the next track alphabetically based on the currently-existing sorting, we can name and number the files how we like.
Good luck and godspeed! Everyone I have shown this thing to is amazed, but when I tell them that it can't go from one track to the next automatically, they recognize this serious limitation.
