cant activate M1 Le

Post by edencane »

I bought the KLC online and received the product codes for all products except the M1 Le.

Ive successfully authorised all the other products in the KLC.

How do I go about authorising the M1 Le ....?

M1 le was bundled with the nano-key controller, that at least is where I got mine.

With that you should have received a post card sized hard copy of the offer for M1 Le that included a log-in code for Korguser site.

You need to create a user name/password and answer/fill out contact and demographics inquiry (not shared by Korg) that would let you get several different products including the M1 Le program.

Korg should then have then sent an email with the key to your designated email account for your log-in -- some 40 characters long -- that would activate your M1-Le when prompted upon installation.

If korg failed to send the key, you may want to try just logging in again and entering your key from the card. If that doesn't work you need to log in again and go to customer service and explain as clearly as possible -- when you purchased, activation attempts, platform and anything else they may indicate they need to resend a key, including the entry key as seen on the postcard.

Korg is, I think, understandably cautious about this given what can only be a heap of money lost to hacked versions of the original KLC posted to BitTorrent and other cracked/pirated program sites. They (Korg) are being very paranoid about confirming that entries are genuine.

Also, the M1-Le was only one of several software instruments and programs in that bundle, all of which could be loaded individually. If you got a used/returned piece there's a possibility that the previous owner may have already downloaded M1-Le to his computer and returned the controller. The other programs would still be loadable. BUT!, M1-Le is limited to one installation on one computer. If someone else used that log-in/install code, you're probably out of luck with a 2nd install attempt.

-------------------

Depending on whether you can reach a human being at the service department, you might still be able to get a deal on the full version KLC that also includes the Wavestation, MS20 and several others. It's a long shot and would cost $99 but would get you several very good synths in their full versions (several hundred presets each and expanded wavecards) for a fraction of the cost of hardware versions.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply.
I bought the KLC online and the M1 Le was part of it, however the email I received contained no activation code for that particular software.
So... not that the M1 Le is so much different from the M1, but for the sake of completeness, I after all bought the product, I would like to get it licensed.

I have sent an email to the local music store that represents Korg in /\ustralia.

So, it also happens that I have a nanokey, so I might see if I can get the license that way.

Best.L.

Provided you bought from Korg or korguser you should be able to trace and verify your purchase and therefor have them resend the license -- usually there's no problem on their part with your reloading or their reissuing a license to a paid/registered user.

But the KLC Collection sold by anyone but korg or korguser may be a pirated or cracked version; and there are a bunch of KLC postings, both paid and "free", that are off Korgs revenue stream and are, justifiably, unsupported by them. Hope this is not the case with you.

Who did you make the original KLC purchase from? I ask because the bundled M1-LE was not (afaik) ever part of either the analog or digital "collections" currently being sold and isn't, again as far as I've been able to find, even available except as a promotional item. The true KLC was/is all full versions of the synths - no LE versions. LE was only part of a bundled introductory offer with some of the Korg nano controller boards.

@ X,

True, the full KLC virtual-M1 with all cards stomps all over M1-LE. But if I qualified for the M1LE and wanted it as a back-up on a computer other than my "main" I think I'd still want it to work when installed.

Just sayin' --- gimmee everything I legitimately should have and minimize as much as practical the hoops I have to jump through to protect you (Korg) from the less-than-scrupulous.

Yea. I bought it from korg online, so the purchase was legit.
It wasnt until I reached the downloads section on korguser.net that I found I could download M1 Le, and yes! If I legitimately have ownership, then I want it! I agree.
I am a bit of a collector of korg stuff too, so for that additional reason I like to be complete if I can. I have MS20, MS50 and SQ10 as well as EX800, and DS8...
So it turns out, I had purchased the nanoseries of controllers and billbaker tipped me off to the fact that I might have rights to some free software with that... well that turned out to be the case and I now have that software which included M1 Le... so thanks billbaker!
The other s/w was ezdrummer lite (I prefer addictive drums and battery + the lite version excludes stuff I need!), loungelizard Rhodes (really nice) and a discount for purchasing Ableton ($50; full suite is 699)...
Beautiful!

One last info-share, and that is on purchase order.

Get the nano key controller first (~$50) and you qualify for the M1-LE, lounge lizard EP and drum software, plus the $50 discount @ Ableton - good not only for the full top-line version, but the entry level one as well.

But you also qualify for a $100 discount on the full KLC - bringing the price down to $99.

So for $150 you get the controller, M1LE, EP, Drums, -$50 Ableton coupon, M1, MS20, Polysix, Mono/Pol, (full) M1, WAVESTATION, and MDE-X (digital FX plug-in).

Wow.

All legit, legal and supported.

--------

Buy the KLC first and it costs you $200, nano-key is another $50.
