I've noticed that there seems to be an insert effect on each drum part, but setting a different effect for each part seems to produce mixed results. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work?

After a bit more playing around, it seems that each drum part does have its own effect generator, but the output is governed by the gate time. So: if you set a long reverb tail and then send the sound a short gate signal the reverb tail gets truncated.
Rather odd, and not very 'analogue' behaviour - but certainly useful to know about.
