HI everyone, I wasn't sure where to put this post so I hope here is ok!

I am looking for a three tier keyboard stand for live playing. In the past I've used an Ultimate support AX-48 but found that the midi cable sockets are right on the central column. This meant that the boards had to be forward of the stand and made the whole thing less stable. I've also used a K&M Spyder pro but this can only really support two tiers (you can add a third but the clamps and arms can't remain on the stand once it's closed.) So what I'm asking is, any recommendations for a slick, easy to pack down, stable stand that can accommodate 3 tiers? Should I try a Jaspers stand (not the A frame obviously) quik lok?
I'd appreciate your experiences and thoughts.

I don't know if you are in Europe, but take a look at Jasper (can be bought from Thomann), they even have 4 and 5 tier stands.

I just got 2 of these, IMHO THE BEST 3 tier stand on the market, takes a while to do the initial set up for keyboard height adjustment, once its done
you're set, seconds to set up or pack up, comes with a gig bag.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen these mentioned on a few posts so they must be good. My biggest (or smallest depending on your viewpoint) problem could be that the synths going on the stand will get progressively smaller as they go up (PC3 bottom, Virus/Kronos 61 middle and Microkorg XL on top). Would that fit on a standtastic or would I need to use a shelf on the top?

Anything wider than 67cm will fit without a shelf, you could probably
get/ or make yourself 2 metal bars to sit on the top tier, & you can put pretty much anything on there. Dont worry about weight, these stands can hold any keyboard ever made, its rock solid, the only negative is the large footprint
from front to rear 85cm.

STANDTASTIC should be looked at
I'd seriously consider this keyboard rack
3-Tier by Standtastic will be my next choice

Its QuikLok every time for me. 3 tier live on a double braced X frame stand. various tier options for width, angle etc.
have even drilled extra holes for me variation!

Can't echo the quiklok comments Mine's absolute kack.
Double-braced 3 tier jobby.... both extension screws have threaded. Keyboards don't even sit squarely on the stand. must have been a "Friday" build - fook knows how it got through the Quality Control

Will look elsewhere in future.

I still have a quicklock (also a 3tier stand), but I never could place all 3 synths absolutely horizontally. It's cheap and it works and the synths will not fall off, but the quality is not perfect.

Too bad On-Stage Stands stopped making their Three Tier X stand... It is much more sturdier and rugged than the Quick-Loc ones, since I own both.

Mine didnt sit exactly horizontal either - and it realy irritates me if theyre not bang on!
So i put some gaffer tape around one end or the other that the keyboard sits on. Now perfect.

I can't recommend a stand but I can tell you not to get an Ultimate Support systems I.Q. 3000. I've had one for 15 years and it is supposed to be guaranteed for life but since they've stopped making it, parts also don't exist anymore. I should clarify that. the main X-stand is available but the tiers aren't and they've changed the top prices so the old parts don't fit on the new stand.

Bummer. That's the one I have.

Aron, I would talk to your music store and see if they have a contact where they can get parts (tiers, etc). My music store seems to think they can still get tiers. The problem I have it that the to bars on the X-frame are now smooth ly painted and my old tier's clamps won't grip tightly enough. On the USS website they still say they have accessories. I'm going to have to do something. I don't want to have to disassemble my studio stand every time I want to gig.

Here is my Standastic stand. This one is the larger of the two they sell. I've had it for about a month now and can attest to it's sturdiness. No wobble at all when you are playing it. You can position the keyboards where ever you want and there are several tilt settings.
