I am going to start my mobile DJ business for small to med size parties. House, hip hop, and R&B music. Mostly house. I hear that 2000 watts is good but, $177 for both speakers. 12"3-Way PA Monitor Speakers. At that price I wonder if there are any good

No. It's hard to help if you don't say which specific speakers you're talking about, but in general, you can't get great performance from crap unless you're in the fertilizer business. The type of music you play requires higher grade speakers to get the bass performance that will make your clients happy. I recommend a pair of QSC K12 as a good point of comparison, with at least one QSC K-Sub, or similar JBL speakers in the same class.

+1 to xml.
More info needed.
Home stereo speakers -- even quality 3 ways -- are not suited for really high volumes over extended periods and are more prone to breakage in transit than pro speakers.
Not saying they're bad (no name yet) but for the price, I wouldn't expect pro level performance.
Under most circumstances the best thing to do is audition the speakers, with the amps you'll most likely use, at the volume you plan to play 'em, using the program (music) you'll be DJ-ing (house).
If the system is a true 3 way you'll need good crossovers plus 2 to 3 amps to run the system efficiently -- subs take about twice the power that mids/highs do. And if the thump's missing from the House mixes you'll really hear the need for a sub.
