Syncing Reaper to Triton Classic.

Post by ausser »

Hi,

I'm trying to get the TC to run Reaper - only to record the midi tracks from
Triton into Reaper - with Triton as the Master Clock and Reaper the Slave.
This is running through M-Audio Fasttrack Pro.

I remember years ago some issue with TC about Sys Exclusive.

So far, I have midi data coming into Reaper alright - and can record midi
information in Reaper no problem.

However, try as I might, I can't get Tritons sequencer to trigger Reapers Clock,
which would be a lot less hassle than trying to snap things to grid later on.

Reaper has a number of options available for Sync:

MTC, SPP, LTC, and ASIO Positiong Protocol.
I don't know what the others do or mean, but I think MTC stands for
Midi Time Clock/Code.
Anyway I've tried them all to no avail.
The Reaper Sync screen comes up, red flashing screen saying: Waiting for Time Code.
But when I start Tritons Sequencer - it doesn't seem to trigger Reaper -
The screen just flashes:Waiting for Time code.

On Triton I have all midi boxes checked: Track Param set to BOTH.
In Global - I have all midi boxes checked and Tritons Clock set internal.

I can of course always import the SEQ file converted to midi file format 1
into Reaper - but I'd like to see if the other way works, if possible.

Any thoughts?

Peace
Ausser.
