Scratched Screen on Korg Radias?

Hi,
I bought a brand new radias last weekend, but if I hold it up and look at the screen from different angles there appears to be lots of tiny scratches all over it, kind of like a spider web pattern. Plus it looks like there are a couple of faint straight line scratches too. None of these show up if I take a photo of it though.

Im not sure if this is normal for a brand new module, maybe its just down to the quality of the glass, or if it really has been scratched. The shop assured me it was brand new and has never been used as the demo model. They did tell me though that it had been taken out of the box the previous week to show another customer. It was also the last one they had.

Can anyone tell me if their screen looks like this if held to the light at a certain angle? It doesn't look scratched if I look at it straight on.

Thanks,
David.

Mine looks like that but I bought it second hand, so I cant say if it was like that new, but the module is in perfect condition otherwise.

Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. If yours has the same spider web type scratches then maybe it really is just the way they are made.

Can anyone comment on the appearance of a brand new radias or am I the last person on earth to buy one brand new at full price? Lol.

Mine was new and has never been gigged or moved and has the spider lines too. Hundreds/thousands of them.

I had previously noticed them myself, when a close light reflects off the LCD, but as the lines change direction with the light and viewing angle I assume it was due to the way it was manufactured and nothing to worry about.

As you mention it's only when strong external light reflects off the LCD and only at certain viewing angles.

Just today I noticed my RADIAS screen is scratchy too. Never noticed it before, it must be the lighting that it was in today, because I've never noticed it while playing, which is usually in lower light.

In any case, the screen is plastic and can be removed if you want to change it for a piece of glass or something else.
