hello guys,

I hardly tried to connect my triton pro to a software editor (FL studio 9,reason 3) via E-MU X-midi 1*1 but with no succes:(( First place I have connected the midi interface to PC and triton but the software didn't recognized any midi keyboard connected.then I installed a driver for the midi interface and it was recognized by the software but when I pressed any of my triton keys there was no sound hearing in speakers; I mention that i set my triton Local control OF but nothing...

does anybody can describe me what i shall do so that i can use my triton as a midi controller in an audio software?

What are you expecting to produce the sound? MIDI is not audio, and it doesn't sound like you have any software instruments set up. If you want the triton to send its audio through your computer, you need to connect one of the 1/4" audio outputs on your triton to your computer and record that in FL or Reason.

maybe i wasn't very explicite...i want that i can use triton like a midi controller in the audio software.I mean I open a virtual keyboard with an virtual instrument and I want to play that sound through triton.i dont want to record any sounds from triton to PC; i just want to make my triton play a VST from a software.

So if there's no sound, then either the Triton isn't sending MIDI, the MIDI is getting ignored somehow, or there's nothing in FL Studio that will respond to it. I'm not an FL user, but a lot of DAWs require you to arm tracks in order to make them respond to incoming MIDI. Check for this, make sure that the virtual instruments in FL Studio are set to respond to whichever MIDI channel(s) your Triton's sending on.

I'm assuming, since you've started a new thread (please don't do that!), that you've tried the suggestions I posted below?

One other suggestion: download MIDI-OX and use its MIDI Monitor to make sure that your Triton is sending the MIDI data you expect, on the correct MIDI channel(s).

A common mistake with these 'cable-like' interfaces is to think they are designed specifically to interface with just one keyboard, and plug 'MIDI Out' to 'MIDI Out' and 'MIDI In' to 'MIDI In'.
The cables are in fact labelled relative to the PC so you need to connect In to Out and Out to In.

also you'll need to check the midi settings of your software so that the midi in to the computer is ON and it is the right one... For some reason when I started using my new soundcard, no matter what program I used, the midi in was always OFF by factory settings so I had to always turn it ON when I started using some new program...
