i've succesfully manage to sample on my triton after many years of having it without ever using this feature
dunno what im doing wrong or NOT doing right cause i can't get it to respond to touch sensitivity (note velocity)
touching the keys softly @ zero velocity sound the same as hitting it hard at 127....
You have to assign velocity to things in the edit pages, either with the hardwired settings or with an AMS source.
For example, the Amp Mod settings you will find a Velocity Int(ensity) setting, where you set how the amp responds to velocity. increasing the number will effectively lower the bottom level for zero velocity, from 127 downwards.
However, most really good programs do more than just amp modulation with velocity. most sounds e.g. Piano get darker if you play them more softly, and this can be done with the filter. Note that 'Vel to A' is for the EG and so will only have any effect after you've set up the filter envelope, however for a straight all-round response, you can choose velocity as an AMS source on the next page and set an intensity there. Unlike amp mod settings though, you will have to lower the cutoff manually to your 'base' zero velocity level, and set the AMS intensity accordingly.

thanx, X-Trade..i fear ams may not do the trick ?? cause i previoussly tried copying several envelop/lfo settings
from different programs to run the sample and all it did was change the tone which is not what i am looking for
im pretty happy with how the sample is sounding it's the pressure apply to the keys (note velocity) that's my
main issue...hard for me to explain, but it's not a volume problem it's more like a touch sensitivity/expression problem.
go ahead try it, run a signal to your triton sample it strike the keys at different strength intervals tell me what you hear.
X-Trade knows what he's talking about. Take his word for it, or at least don't question the help you get before you try it.
Have you tried taking an existing program that's of a similar characteristic to the sound you're sampling (i.e. if you're sampling a lead sound, pick an existing lead program on the Triton) and do NOTHING else but change the source of the oscillators from on-board ROM to the samples you've recorded? If so, I'll guarantee that the program will respond to velocity and such properly (assuming the original program did so as well).
In other words, if you tried copying some (but not all) settings from a program and it didn't sound right, you didn't copy enough settings or the right ones.
