New SCSI Storage Question

I have a Triton Pro and have managed to obtain a scsi interface card for it recently. So this is really my first dive into the scsi storage on this. Fact is the floppy isnt going to last and I really still love my triton.
Now that I can connect something to it, Im not sure where to start now since the technology is so old.
Can i connect the latest and greatest scsi drives to this? If so what do I need to know regarding the cable, adapters and such? I also want to be able to connect this external drive to a pc to back it up, so that means being able to find a scsi to usb cable to connect to my laptop or obtain a pci or pci-x card in my desktop. At this point there seems to be so much in scsi to understand. I also want to be in the best solution in the event of a hard drive failure that I can easiely find a drive replacement (newer the type the longer it will be available).
What is the best option right now?
