Rather new on the Triton - had it for a week. My biggest problem is my CX3. It sounds so good that the Triton just sounds weak. Anyone have some solutions? I see there are B3 samples out there. How are is it to convert those samples into programs that I can just play?

I have the Triton and briefly had the CX3. I was able to get all of the sounds on the CX3 on my Triton so I sold it.

There are good enough samples in the Triton you should be able to get the sounds you want without additional samples.

Can you give an example of what organ sounds you are trying to mimic?

My main patch and my favorite (that I created based on an organ I created WAY back in the day on my DW-8000) are in one of the community libraries. Look for one called Boston B and another called DW8K Organ. And while you're there, grab my piano patch called $200 Grand Piano (long story on that name).

My Boston B uses SW 1 to go between clean and very mellow and distorted. I use an Expression pedal to control the Leslie but you can still use the joystick as well. I edit this as needed.

The DW8K Organ is a very, very mellow organ. It sounds exactly like it did on the DW-8000 and I added some effects to it controlled by expression pedal, and SW1 and SW2.

Most of my other organ sounds are based on stock organs and I edit the patch to fit the sound I need. That's why I didn't include them in the community stuff.

The Triton has a good organ sample set and the presets are good starting points to some killer organs.

McHale, any chance of porting your organ patches in M3/M50 language? Pleeeeease

Believe me, I'm trying. If I could get a couple more sounds ported over, I could start using my M50 as my primary instead of my Triton. That's a savings of like 30 pounds!!

My RADIAS arrived yesterday so was playing with that all night last night *AND* my backup battery died in my DW-8000 at the same time. I unsoldered that from the system board at about 3am this morning and spent the day looking for a CR2032 socket. I have a gig tomorrow night and Saturday night but then I'll have time to program some more patches. Since my M3 and M50 arrived, I've been slowly programming all of my patches on them so I can retire the Triton Pro. It's a slow process to re-create 11 years of programming and tinkering.

I'll tell you what though, the M3 organs and EP's are SO much better than the Triton and I never thought I would say that. The two organs I referenced above are very mellow/smooth organs that don't exist yet in preset form so I will have to craft them from scratch. I've tried several times and haven't been successful yet. But I *AM* working on it. If you follow the M3 and M50 forums, you'll eventually see a post when they're done.

I believe the collection you're looking for is Legacy I and Legacy II. I forget which one has the 2 organ patches in it. I believe I also create my DW-8000 lead patch.

Grab the EXB-08 EMULATED .pcg file. I took the stock factory disk and converted all the progs to use the internal samples instead of the actual EXB-PCM08. I think it sounds better.

great stuff - breathing easier now. Couldn't find the $200 Piano but things are working much smoother now - thanks for the input.

There's an EXB-PCM08 EMULATED where I converted all the patches. I don't remember the name of the Grand Piano patch but it's the best piano I've heard on the Triton using stock samples.

Believe me I'll be patiently waiting for news on this matter. As for the CR2032 socket, try to unsolder an old PC motherboard battery backup socket.
