Legacy Collection not showing up in VST list... please help

I successfully installed the Legacy Digital Collection, but for some reason it's not showing up in my list of VST's in Ableton Live. I went to the folder where Live searches for plug-ins and all the correct Legacy Collection .vst files are there. I have the USB key connected as well. I know it was installed correctly as I can run the synths in stand alone mode no problem.

This is on a mac by the way.

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks.

You need to check that M1.dll, WAVESTATION.dll and MDE-X.dll are in your live plugins folder.

When you install the legacy collection it lets you install the vst in a different place from the other programs but maybe you missed that stage... you could just find the above and move them to your plugins folder if they are in the wrong place.

There are two kinds of Mac, both with radically different chip architectures -- Intel and PowerPC. You haven't specified which one you own. Nor have you told us which version of OS X it's running. Both these factors are important to know befoe anyone can offer you relevant advice.

Also, make sure you've downloaded the latest update available.

Kind regards.

check you've got the most recent version of syncrosoft license control center software downloaded. this did the trick for me (mac).

i'm having the same issue running an intel mac, os x, 10.5.8 on ableton 5.2.

i've downloaded the software suggested (to no avail), and i've searched for the .dll files and nothing comes up (i thought those were a windows exclusive kind of thing?).

i've read that "Live 5.2 and later requires a VST 2.4 plug-in on Intel based Mac OS X machines as suggested by Steinberg, the creators of the VST standard." Are the Korg VST's just not upgraded? Any help would be phenomenal.

well, which version i own is not entirely clear, but i'm pretty sure it's 1.1.6, which is the last update i installed. however when i open the software info it says it's version 1.2.1.

i've read the gazillion other forums on this topic since posting and realized i probably need to upgrade to 1.2. (assuming im not already) and i'm working on that. however i bought the suite ages ago and don't have any of the stuff to register on korgusers.net, so im trying to work with tech support.

just got off the phone with them, and because of the all this enhanced security stuff, i'm pretty well screwed, unless there's another way to get to 1.2 i don't know about...

I am having the same trouble here. I have installed the software correctly. I can even see a file called M1.vst and wavestation.vst in the applications/audio/plug-ins folder !!! (which is the default VST folder for ableton and what it is set on)

i have a macbook pro and i don't know a heck of alot about macs yet because i've only had it for a couple months. But i understand the basics of how to install a VST.

This is annoying for me because I'm so eager to get playin with M1!!

Any help would go a very long way !!

yeah, i've looked into this pretty extensively, and the only solution I can find is to upgrade the software at korguser.net. there's a few other small things you can try first, but i know that's what i have to do.
