Hello

Finally, i got my M3-88. I really love it. Great Pads, Rhodes and many more
But I'm missing a piano-sound similar to the acoustic Piano-Preset I used with my Triton.

I know that it is not possible to load Triton-PCG into the M3.
Does somebody have a sample or a M3-PCG of that Sound ??

Or even better: does anyone have a triton-to-m3-converter-software ??

Have you tried all the pianos in the Korg EXB-PCM3 and EXB-PCM4 expansion sample sets? Have you loaded the latest Korg expansion Programs and Combis?

I have asked about this a lot. Not the same Instrument...but about transferring from the Triton. and everyone said not really possible.
You can safe the wave files, like the actual samples and try and remake it...but other than that I don't know.

My OS Version is 2.0. I only tried the on-Board-Programms/Combis (Many of them have an "EX3" within their Name. Are there others to download anywhere ??

The only way to get that sound from triton (A-001) is to sample the multisound and recreate the program on the M3.
We all know that judging about sounds and soundquality is a highly subjective area, but I stil wonder that somebody likes that famous "triton" piano. That piano was discussed in countless topics and I cannot remember that actually anybody liked it.
There are now 2 Pianos provided from Korg as a free download and expansion. Both are IMHO miles ahead from the original triton piano which sounded bad even back in the times when the triton was released.

the only way to create it on m3 is to resample all samples included in this multisample and re-program it in the m3

all this will be made manually

I can resample it if you want...

and even reprogram it

I've just uploaded them, but the pianos are not that what i was thinking about.

sure, the sense of how a Piano (or whatever) has to sound like is very subjective ! But I used this sound for more than 9 years and I am so accostumed to it, for that it is very hard to get used to another sound ..
I love this Preset ! It does not sound like a REAL acoustic Piano, but it is "my" Piano-sound an I don't want to miss it.
You know what I mean ?

You wrote something about 2 other piano sounds to download from korg ?
Where ? I can't find them

I like that Triton piano sound. It proved to be very present in the mix, very playable also.

More so, I lately use NI Akoustik Piano. I compared how Triton BS Grand Concert sounds compared to that huge library. To be honest, it doesn't sound worse. It sounds different, but not worse. And when you take into consideration Akoustik Piano pianos have like 2 or 3 GB each (there is four of them in one VSTi), that's pretty well for good old Triton.

People tend to miss what they are used to.
I remember piano sounds from M1 (that pretty thin, but unique sound). Many musicians missed that one when they upgraded to new workstations.

It's all a matter of taste.

Sampling Triton's BS piano multisamples wouldn't be a problem, considering the fact those samples are looped already, so just recording all of the velocities (four of them) and looping them again would do the trick - such library wouldn't be big, also, considering the fact M3 has 320 MB of sampling RAM.
