Hello,

My Korg M3 73 combi sounds different when I play a combi on another synth.

For example: I own a X7 and a Korg m3. sometimes it is easier to player everything on the roland. I Linked the M3 to the X7 and when I programmed a combi on the M3 and I play the combi on the X7, the combi I programmed sound much flatter (like an exciter orso is put to the sound).

I think I forgot to switch something down but I cannot find what.

Thank you for reading my post.

Kind regards, Foppe

Did you check all the Midi channels of each timbre? Are they all getting triggered by external MIDI? And the same channel?

In addition to possible MIDI issues, your keyboards might have very different velocity curves. Many of the internal Combis use velocity-switching, so if the two keyboards have a different response, you might not be triggering some of the sounds that you're used to hearing.

I have the same issue. I use Motif-ES with M3-m.

Some combis do not sound correct when played from external MIDI, but they sound fine from pads using chords.

I have checked everything but can't find what causes it.

It doesn't happen with all combis, only with some.

Can you give the example of a preloaded combi that doesn't sound the same? I will make a list of combis that do sound good from external MIDI and post over the weekend.
