Hi fellow TRers,
I'm newbie tired of working from the small LCD screen of my TR-61 and I'd like some recommendation as to choosing a DAW for my PC. I'm looking for something that would give me full access to the progs, combis and other parameters of the TR. To put it simply, I'd like to keep doing all I do from the LCD screen but from something bigger, more visual and more intuitive. Any suggestion would be welcome.?
Thanks in advance.

For a first timer, I'd recommend this, http://www.cakewalk.com/products/HomeSt ... ish/XL.asp
Everything you'll need, and much more, easy to learn, and you'll also be eligable for upgrade discounts.
As a bonus, there is a huge forum with loads of video tutorials, and people to answer questions, should you get stuck. (not likely if you read the manual, and do the tutorials).

I hope this helps.

One day you'll want a USB interface, because you want to record some vocals or guitar. Buy an interface now, they're cheap, and you get a DAW (Sonar or Cubase LE) for free!!
I'll see Cubase, but it's personal. I've just been re-using it again (didn't do studio work no more for years) and I still like it. Also there are a lot Cubase users out there so you can get some help when needed.

Re: Choosing a DAW
If you want something to just move everything to your computer screen I would recommend TR Edit Pro. http://www.soundtower.com/ This is not a DAW but you will be able to control most of your features from your computer. Look around on the forum here and you'll see others that use it.Bluegray wrote:To put it simply, I'd like to keep doing all I do from the LCD screen but from something bigger, more visual and more intuitive.
