How do I setup/assign Users Scales on the i40m?

Post by MrVlad »

Hi everyone,
I am programming and i40m arranger module for a friend (i am PA80 owner, and it is very different) and have stumbled across "14 user Scales" in the Global Setup.

My Friend uses a Midi Accordian and would like to play the accordian acoustically thru a mic.. but via midi thru the i40m to play for example a Sax sound that plays a 3rd above or below in harmony ("Terce" for the balkan musicians out there)... is this one of the ways that user scales can be employed?

if so, how do I assign User Scale 1 to UPPER1?

I know that you can use the EC5 Pedal to switch UserScales on and off but how would setup multiple user scales? would you have for example: UserScale1=Am setup on KeyboardSet=C1
UserScale2=Gmaj setup on KeyboardSet=C2
UserScale3=Emaj setup on KeyboardSet=C3..... etc.. so that they could be activated at the touch of one(ish) button?

All help greatly appreciated..
many thanks
regards,
Vlad

for information:
sussed it... although the User scales can only transpose each note up/down by 50 cents (or half a semi-tone)... and do not function in the way I expected

regards to all.
