Has anyone heard any namm rumours about what Korg is coming out with?
Personally I am hoping for a Triton VSTI...and a revamp of the wavestation to make its gui more friendly and searchable like the M1's..
an update to legacy combination to allow inclusion of mono poly sounds.

Triton VSTi is highly unlikely in foreseeable future - Korg is still producing Triton Extreme and several newer Triton-based synths (MicroX, TR, etc) and I doubt they would want to duplicate them in software.

I am sure you are right, but now that I think of it, I would actually prefer the Z1 in a vsti......Actually that was the last Korg instrument that I truly liked (Yes a vsti triton at $300 would be great....not a big Triton fan but for $300 would surely get it)

Myself, I would like to see a VSTi of the MS2000.

not much happening on the VSTi front from Korg for a very long time.
they are probably busy making more new controllers with a cheap plastic feel and without aftertouch.....

I've been thinking recently about this long, long silence from Korg on the VSTi/Audio Unit instrument software front. And I don't have a good feeling about it. I think the KLC AE and DE may be dead. Can you even buy them new today?
Remember, Korg abandoned their initial foray into the world of computer music with the OASYS-PCI. Oh, certainly they went on to use much of the technology in their flagship Oasys keyboard, but they left the initial PCI card purchasers high and dry by not updating the drivers to current OS levels on either platform.
I've already had to freeze one of my machines at Mac OS 9.2.2 so I can continue to use the OASYS-PCI for all my projects. If Korg decide to slip silently away into the night again, I may be forced to dedicate yet another machine to Korg abandonware.
And their support model is essentially the same as for their hardware products – the country distributor is responsible for it. To my mind, this says that Korg have never understood the software market's different needs.
I've dearly love to be very, very wrong about this because I use these software Korgs all the time. Time will tell, of course, but after this long silence I'm finding it very hard to be optimistic.
Kind regards.

yes you can still buy it:

I dont think it is discontinued. I just believe they have been concentrating on other things... I think
a Korg representative recently said the team had been concentrating on some guitar processing tools.... Hopefully at this namm they are back with AE 2009 and some other new stuff..

Well, I really hope you're right, richard. I'll be watching the NAMM reports with great interest. I have a hat here which I think might be edible enough if I use a nice hot curry sauce.
Kind regards.

At least an update to their existing software would show they are still alive!
I have heard that Stephen Kay may be interested in creating Karma software for other apps vs. the current hardware :] That would be cool, but Stephen could do this on his own, without Korg..
Korg really needs to bring out something for Vsti for sure...
Vsti is here to stay and many more users are interested in them due to the price difference's vs. the hardware... Hardware will always be around, but with cpu's getting more powerful and doubling that of what hardware does every other few months,I think it's time these guys give in and port all rom into great sounding plugins...
3 more days till Namm.. we shall see..
