Hi,

Does anyone know if the Korg Legacy Collection AE2007 will run on a Receptor?

Thanks
John

I doubt Receptor supports the Syncrosoft licensing and dongle.

Thats what I thought... pity really, as AE2007 is killing my CPU so I'm getting the feeling the only way to really make use of the Legacy Cell especially is to run it on a dedicated box.

You could always buy a second computer instead of a Receptor.

To connect both computers you simply need:
-- a midi connection (from PC 1 into PC 2) This can be a real connection or via Ethernet like MidiOverLan by Musiclab
-- an audio connection (audio out of PC2 back into PC1)

I have thought about that option. For the same price as a Receptor I can buy a monster PC (seing as I'm totally mac based and I do still use PC for some audio editing and processing).

I'll run the KLC and a few others on the PC, control them via midi from the mac/logic.

Cheers

The only Legacy that can work on Receptor is the original one, minus LegacyCell which has an incompatibility with WINE. And it's difficult to install unless you know what you're doing.

Any version of Legacy that requires the syncrosoft dongle cannot work on Receptor since syncrosoft have not seen fit to develop a Linux version of their dongle management software.

Do as I do, bug them by sending periodic emails asking for a Linux version of the dongle software.
